The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an enforcement drive in the Sadapathar area of Bholaganj, Sylhet, targeting illegal stone extraction that is causing losses to state resources.
According to the state-run news agency BSS, quoting ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Md Akhtarul Islam, the operation is being conducted by the ACC’s Sylhet District Integrated Office.
Deputy Director Islam said the drive follows allegations that illegal stone extraction in Sadapathar, a popular tourist spot in Companiganj upazila, is taking place with the collusion of corrupt local administration officials, resulting in significant damage to state assets.
