A seventh Final Destination movie is officially in development at Warner Bros. and New Line, following the huge success of Final Destination: Bloodlines — the first entry since 2011’s Final Destination 5.
Writer: Lori Evans Taylor, co-writer of Bloodlines, will write the script. Guy Busick’s return is unconfirmed.
Directors: No word yet on whether Bloodlines directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein will return.
Cast: None of the Bloodlines cast will return — their characters were all killed, including Tony Todd’s William Bludworth.
Story possibilities: Could be a prequel, a first-responders-centered story, or even a twist where some previous deaths were only premonitions.
Franchise status: Bloodlines was a hit with fans and critics, making over $286 million, and the studio aims to keep the series going.
Tone-wise, the article plays up the franchise’s reputation for elaborate, Rube Goldberg–style death sequences and hints at endless possibilities for the next chapter.
