8-year-old Bangladeshi prodigy Arrietty Islam has won gold at the International Robotics Olympiad in Korea, impressing judges with her self-built robot designed to tackle water pollution. Representing the Anari team from Monipur High School and College, Arrietty built the robot on-site in just five hours. Her invention uses an electromagnet to remove metal waste from water and is powered by a Raspberry Pi. Arrietty’s journey into robotics began at age three, nurtured by her father’s guidance. Her victory in the ‘Creative’ category highlights not only her exceptional talent but also the promise of young innovators in Bangladesh.
