At around 2:45 am on Friday (8 August), a patrol team from the Kalupara Border Outpost (BOP) detained 14 individuals about 50 yards inside Bangladesh territory from border pillar 271/1-S, in the Satanapara mango orchard area of Dhamoirhat upazila. Meanwhile, at around 4:30 am, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel from the Bamonpara BOP detained four people about 800 yards inside the border from main pillar 246/2-S, near the Jame Mosque of Rasulpur village in Sapahar upazila.

Among those detained in the Dhamoirhat border area were six women, one teenage girl, three children, and four young men. They are residents of various districts across the country, including Khulna, Narail, and Jashore.

Those detained at the Sapahar border are: Mosammat Hena Khatun (38), wife of Imdadul from Uthli village in Kalia upazila of Narail; Rupali (35), wife of Balam Shikdar from Chanpur village in the same upazila; their daughter Chandni (8) and son Ramzan (2).

It is reported that those detained in Dhamoirhat had been living and working in Mumbai for a long time. On 7 August, they arrived by air at Pune Airport and were taken by BSF through Balurghat Police Station in West Bengal to the border, from where they were pushed in by vehicle. Later, BGB detained them and kept them at the Dhamoirhat Upazila Health Complex for medical check-ups.
