Asaduzzaman Tuhin, a 38-year-old journalist with Dainik Pratidiner Kagoj, was brutally killed on the night of 7 August in Gazipur city, just hours after broadcasting a Facebook Live video exposing alleged extortion of street vendors.

The attack took place around 8:30 PM near the Chowrasta Mosque Market, where Tuhin was sitting at a tea stall. According to police officer Shaheen Khan, the investigation is underway, and authorities are actively searching for those involved.

Earlier that day, Tuhin had gone live on Facebook, showing footage of local vendors being extorted. He later posted another video captioned, "The scene of crossing the road as you please. Gazipur intersection."

Shortly afterward, a group of assailants armed with sharp weapons launched a sudden attack on him in public. Witnesses reported that no one intervened out of fear. Tuhin was severely injured and later pronounced dead. His body was sent to the Gazipur morgue for an autopsy.
