"Ziaur Rahman's Name Missing in July Declaration is Painful: Mirza Abbas"
BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas expressed his disappointment over the exclusion of martyred President Ziaur Rahman's name from the July Declaration, calling it "painful" during a statement made ahead of the Victory Procession at Nayapaltan on August 6.
Meanwhile, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, responding to criticism at a press conference in Gulshan, said:
“Those who are disappointed by the July declaration will remain disappointed for life.”
He added that Jamaat’s reaction so far has been one of "disappointment", but BNP hopes for a more positive political response from them going forward.
