Protesters Block Shahbagh Roads for Second Day, Pressing July Charter Proposals

Demonstrations at Shahbagh entered their second consecutive day on Friday, as protesters continued to block Shahbagh area demanding implementation of their “July Charter” proposals.

A groups of demonstrators gathered at Shahbagh intersection, halting traffic movement and creating severe congestion in surrounding areas. The protest, which began yesterday, has drawn students, activists, and various socio-political groups who insist that their July Charter be recognized as a framework for reform.

The demonstrators argue that the charter outlines urgent steps needed for political accountability, social justice, and policy changes. They vowed to continue their movement until the proposals are formally addressed by the authorities.

Commuters and transport workers faced widespread disruption as key routes around Shahbagh remained inaccessible. Despite public inconvenience, protesters said their blockade was necessary to amplify their demands.

Law enforcement officials have been deployed in the area to maintain order, but no major clashes have been reported so far.

Organizers of the demonstration announced that the movement will continue in the coming days if the government fails to respond to their proposals.
