Dhaka Court Bans GM Quader from Party Activities
In a dramatic turn of events for the Jatiya Party, a Dhaka court has temporarily barred Chairman GM Quader and Joint Office Secretary Mahmud Alam from engaging in any organizational activities, dealing a significant blow to the party chief’s authority.
The court, in its order on Thursday (July 31), also reinstated 10 senior leaders who had been ousted by Quader amid growing rifts within the party.
Judge Md. Nurul Islam of the First Joint District Judge’s Court passed the order, directing that senior figures including Co-Chairmen Anisul Islam Mahmud and ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu, and several presidium members be restored to their posts.
The development deepens the factional tensions in the Jatiya Party, which has been grappling with internal disputes over leadership and organizational control in recent months.
