Milestone Crash Victims

Dhaka, July 24, 2025 — Following the devastating Milestone College air crash in Uttara, which left over 30 people dead and more than 160 injured, China has pledged to send burn specialists to Bangladesh to assist in treatment efforts.

The Bangladesh government, while receiving offers of financial and medical support from several countries including India, Japan, and China, has prioritized skilled medical teams and equipment for treating the severely injured—many of whom are suffering from serious burns.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese government has responded positively and is preparing to send a team of burn treatment experts to Dhaka. Although an exact arrival time hasn’t been disclosed, the team is expected to coordinate with local hospitals and emergency services upon arrival.

In parallel, India has confirmed the dispatch of a medical team composed of burn specialists, nurses, and necessary equipment, while Japan has also offered medical supplies and assistance.

Earlier in the year, China also funded a 150-bed Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, highlighting the growing healthcare cooperation between the two countries.

Officials say the incoming teams will play a vital role in life-saving treatment and rehabilitation planning for the injured survivors of one of the deadliest school-related disasters in recent Bangladeshi history.
