Milestone Crash Claims Life of 14-Year-Old Ukya Ching Marma
Ukya Ching Marma, a 14-year-old student of Milestone School and College, tragically passed away early Tuesday morning after suffering critical injuries in the Bangladesh Air Force jet crash at the school’s Uttara campus. He had been receiving treatment in the ICU of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in Dhaka, where he died at around 2:30 am.
Ukya was a seventh-grade student and the only child of Usaimong Marma and Tejipru Marma, both schoolteachers in Rajasthali upazila of Rangamati. The family, originally from College Para in Bangalhalia union, brought his body back home, where he was cremated on Wednesday in a traditional funeral ceremony.
The tragic incident has cast a deep shadow over his community and raised serious concerns about flight safety near civilian areas.
