Former Army Chief M Harun-ur-Rashid was found dead in a VIP room at the Chittagong Club on Monday afternoon. Authorities believe that health complications may have led to his untimely death. Harun-ur-Rashid had arrived in Chittagong from Dhaka the previous day and checked into the club around 4 PM. He briefly left the club an hour later and returned at 10:45 PM.
The following morning, he failed to attend a scheduled program, and by 10 AM, he had not responded to attempts to reach him. Concerned staff members alerted club officials, who grew increasingly worried as the hours passed without any sign of him.
After attempts to contact him were unsuccessful, the staff decided to break a glass window to enter his room. Inside, they discovered his lifeless body. Police have started their investigation, and they continue to suspect that health issues might have contributed to his death.
