On August 3, 2025, Sydney witnessed a powerful demonstration of solidarity as thousands gathered to protest the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The situation in Gaza has reached alarming levels. According to the United Nations, over 6,000 Palestinian children have been treated for malnutrition, with at least 175 individuals, including 93 minors, having died from hunger since the war's onset in October 2023. UNICEF reports that one in three Palestinians are going days without food, and the death toll from starvation has reached 162, including 92 children.
The international community has condemned the blockade and the obstruction of humanitarian aid. Despite some aid convoys being allowed entry, the United Nations warns that the current assistance is insufficient, with only a fraction of the necessary aid reaching those in need. The Sydney march serves as a call to action for governments and organizations worldwide to prioritize the protection and well-being of Gaza's children.
