On the occasion of the anniversary of the July uprising on August 5, the government has arranged eight pairs of special trains to facilitate the transportation of students and the public to Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka for the “July Proclamation” reading ceremony. These trains will bring participants from various districts to the capital by noon and return them to their respective destinations after the event.

The estimated cost for hiring the trains is approximately Tk 30.46 lakh, which will be covered by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

Railway sources confirmed that on August 3, the Directorate of the July Uprising formally requested the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs to arrange the special trains for attendees. Following this, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs instructed the Ministry of Railways to take the necessary steps to ensure smooth transportation.

As part of the state-organized programs commemorating the anniversary, a full-day event will be held at Manik Mia Avenue on Tuesday. At 5 p.m., Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, will officially present the “July Proclamation.” The event will be attended by leaders and activists from various political parties.

The Ministry of Railways has assured that the special trains will operate according to the designated rental terms and will not disrupt the regular railway services.
