Beyond healthcare, Dr. Cash was a passionate supporter of Bangladesh’s independence, earning the "Friends of Liberation War Honour" for his efforts to garner international support. He was instrumental in founding BRAC USA in 2006 and served on its Board for nearly two decades.
His groundbreaking work in public health garnered him prestigious awards, including the Prince Mahidol Award in 2006 and the Fries Prize for Improving Health in 2011. As a dedicated educator at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health for over 40 years, he inspired countless future public health leaders.
